Access to the city from the Noi Bai International Airport

Minibus

It is a car of about 12 seats.
It offers transportation directly to your hotel in Hanoi, costs about VND 40,000. It only leaves when it's completely full.
Minibus to the airport depart from opposite the Vietnam Airlines Office on Quang Trung in Hanoi city center.
It takes you about 40 minutes to access to Ha Noi city center.
Make sure to confirm destination and fare before boarding the minibus.

Public Taxi

Airport taxi costs a fixed  VND 250,000 (US$15) for an SUV (toll charges are included in the price). Costs are written on the rate board.
Taxi ride to the city center takes about 30 minutes.
Watch out taxi cheats and taxi scams. Big taxis operated by 'Hanoi Taxi' would be a safer bet compared to the more gung-ho smaller taxis that have a reputation of meters being 'fixed'.

Getting around in Ha Noi

Public Taxi

Public taxi might be the safest and the most convenient means of transportation for travelers, but also cost the most. Taxi with meters is common.
The flag-down rates are different each company, about VND 12000 for the first two kilometers, and about VND 8,000 per succeeding kilometer.

Motorcycle taxi

It is cheaper than taxi in many cases.
However, most of the drivers speak very little English, which is a big problem in communication (wrong destination or charge).
