Metro

is the fastest and most efficient and affordable way of moving around Madrid.

How to use Metro

1. First, buy a ticket. There is a ticket machine at the metro entrance. you can pay with cash or credit card.

2. After buying the ticket, you can proceed through the ticket gate. insert the ticket into the slot, walk through the gate and pick up the ticket on the other side.

3. The door of the train is operated by hand. Open the door by yourself. just push the button.

4. After you arrive at your destination station, through the ticket gates in the same way as you entered. When paying with a single ticket, the ticket is retained in the machine upon exiting.

Auto Bus

Bus Auto is a city bus that managed by EMT. It covers practically the whole city.

■Operational hour : from 6 a.m. to 11:30 p. m.
■Fee : from 1.5 Euro. There is value book of tickets such as Metrobus (10 journeys on Metro or buses) about 12.20 Euro.

How to use the bus

The buses usually are red. It can get you to any part of the city.
1. When you want to ride the bus, raise your hand at bus stops.
2. ride the bus from front door and pay fee. After that insert the ticket into the slot.
3. When you want to get off the bus, push a button and get out rear door.

Taxi

Taxis in Madrid are white with a diagonal red band on their front door bearing the emblem of the city.

■Fee: Start of etting the taxi meter running is 2.40 € Monday to Saturday from 6 am to 9 pm , 2.90 € all other days and times.
