Transfers

Trains

The shuttle train is economical(€4,80) but the station, “Vitrolles Airport”, is actually five minutes from the airport. So you must first take another shuttle bus (from Quai 2) to this station and then take the train to Marseille centre. If you have enough time and few luggage, this can be convenient.

Shuttle Bus

You can easily transfer from the airport to the city centre, the St Charles station, by bus. It runs every 20 minutes from 5:10 to 00:10 from airport to city, 4:30 to 23:30 from city to airport. It takes 25 minutes and costs €8 one way (€12,80 return), or €8,50 (€13,60 return) to include onward travel on city public transport. There are reductions for under 25 years old, and better ones for under 11 years old.
You can buy tickets at outside the terminal MP1, Hall 3 & 4 or online at navettemarseilleaeroport.com.

Taxis

Taxis may be booked ahead (0033 442 142444; taxis-aeroport.com) but cost €50 (or €60 at night) to the centre of Marseille. More details on all these from: marseille.airport.com.

Getting around

Trams & Buses

You can walk around easily in the center of Marseille. If you want to go far from the center, you can utilize trams and buses. A Ticket Solo for one trip of up to an hour on any, or all, forms of public transport, costs €1,50. For visitors who want to see many places, it's better to buy a one-day (€5) or three-day pass (€10,50) either from the ticket machines at tram and Metro stations, or from a "tabac" (tobacconist). A City-Pass allows you unlimited public transport, free entry to some 15 museums, a free ferry crossing (and entry) to the Château-d’If and discounts on other goods and services. It’s €24 for one day, €31 for two, and €39 for three.
