The currency in Italy is the Euro.

Coins

There are eight kind of coins: 1c, 2c, 5c, 10c, 20c, 50c, €1, €2. The designs of surface are same in Europe. But the back of coins are Italy's own designs: Colosseum of Rome, body chart of Leonardo da Vinci.

Bills

There are seven kinds of bills: €5, €10, €20, €50, €100, €200, €500.
€200 and €500 are almost not used in the general market.

Foreign Exchange

You can buy Euro at a bank, hotel, airport, station. there are money exchange counters in the big town. Handling charges are different from each shop.
The business hour of a bank is from 8:30a.m-1:00p.m and 2:00p.m-4:00p.m usually.
