Alleys along houses of woods that bring Japanese people good-old-Japan memories and have them feel reminiscent.

Tsukishima is an artificial land reclaimed from Tokyo Bay and it’s been there since 1892. On one site you see groups of high residential buildings. When you hit small alleyways and walk along, it’s a different site where lines of wooden houses stand and surely make Japanese people, who live an urban life, reminiscent of good old Japan. What triggers them to feel more that way is the Tokyo local food, monja-yakis. Along “Tsukishima Monja Street,” there are more than 70 restaurants serving the plates. Monja-yaki is a savory pancake with various fillings such as a slice of cabbage and cuttlefish, and crunchy bits of deep fried flour-batter.
