Prince's elegant palace in Monaco

The Prince's Palace is the official residence of the Prince of Monaco. It's founded in 1191 as a Genoese fortress, and the Grimaldi family has ruled from the palace since 1297. It's located in the old Monaco-Ville, where you can access climbing a slope on foot. It's very interesting not only to join a tour to see the some of the rooms in the palace but also to watch the changing of the guard at noon.
There is an also interesting museum inside of the palace, "Museum of Napoleonic Souvenirs and Collection of the Place's Historical Archives", which is a mixture of historical artifacts, documents and relics of the great Emperor.

The changing of the guard

It takes place daily at 11:55AM. You had better to be there earlier to keep the best place to see it.

Museum of Napoleonic Souvenirs and Collection of the Palace's Historical Archives

Located in the south wing of the palace, this museum has a large quantity of artifacts and memorabilia associated with French Emperor Napoleon I (1769-1824) is on display. The time span of the exhibits ranges from Napoleon Bonaparte's youth, to his exile at Elba and St. Helena. Arranged in a pattern that is easy to follow, you will see objects from one of Napoleon's dressing gown at the age of children up to the bronze death mask. Various flags and military uniforms give a colourful insight into symbolic impressions of a tumultuous era of European history.
The collection has a number of very striking personal items relating to the Emperor. These include Napoleon I's hat, a letter bearing his signature; his timepiece, worn during his Russian campaign.
