Lovely park

Parque del Capricho is one of the most beautiful parks in Madrid. It was created in the late 18th century by the Countess-Duchess of Spain for artists and intellectuals to gain inspiration from beautiful gardens. During the Spanish Civil War, the grounds were even used as a headquarters by the Central Army. Luckily, in 1974 the Madrid town hall bought the land, and began to restore the gardens to their former vision. It is a setting replete with romanticism, combining Italian and French influences. It is the perfect place for a romantic time in Madrid.
