the biggest public square

Piazza del Plebiscito is the largest square in Naples and one of the largest open squares in Europe. It is a central gathering place for both residents and tourists of the city and it sits right next to the bay on the edge of the city’s historic center.
This is not only the largest square in Naples, but also the starting point for most tourists in the city. On the opposite side of the Piazza del Plebiscito, you’ll find the Royal Palace of Naples, a former residence of the Bourbon Kings who ruled in the 18th-19th centuries.
