jewel of the world’s artistic heritage

The Cappella Sansevero is a chapel that was built in the 17th century and then it was completely restyled in the mid 18th century by Prince Raimondo di Sangro, Prince of Sansevero VII. It is in the historic heart of Naples is a jewel of the world’s artistic heritage. There are art works of the genius Italian artists of the 18th century.
At the centre of the nave of the church, there is one of the most famous and impressive work "The Veiled Christ". It made by an Italian sculptor, Giuseppe Sanmartino.
You are also able to see great works: "Release from Deception (Il Disinganno)" by an Italian sculpture Francesco Queirolo, "Monument to Giovan Francesco Paolo de' Sangro" by a Venetian Rococo sculptor Antonio Corradini, "Altar (La Deposizione)" by Francesco Celebrano.
At the area named the Underground Chamber of the church is the famous Anatomical Machines,the skeletons of a man and of a woman in upright position, with the artery and vein systems almost perfectly intact. The Machines were made by the doctor Giuseppe Salerno of Palermo, under the direction of Raimondo di Sangro.
