Chagall took part in this museum project

The museum opened in 1973 inaugrated by Chagall, too. After he died in 1985, the museum enriched its collection with donation of more than his 300 works adding the whole preparatory work as well as of numerous other works (more than 250 works): gouaches, engravings, lithographs, sculptures and ceramics. The museum successfully widened to see artist's whole work thanks to different aquirements and some museums to the public.
