A formerly rough area transformed into a gentrified area

El Raval is a neighbourhood in the Ciutat Vella district of Barcelona. Although it is certainly not the safest or the cleanest area in Barcelona, this is vibrant, historic, authentic, interesting and exciting area. There are art studios, galleries, shops, restaurants and Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA) .
Even if the area has become fashionable and trendy area, has a lot of immigrants from a foreign country. There are many pickpockets around here. Especially at night, please be careful of pickpockets here.
