Church in the wonderland, symbol of Moscow

This outstanding church was commissioned by Ivan the Terrible to commemorate a military victory and completed in the last of 15th century. Combined with many colorful of elements, this church became particulary famous in the world. Saint Basil's is located at one end of Red Square. It consists of nine chapels symmetrically (last one slightly tends to be asymmetric) built on a single foundation. The interior is a maze of galleries winding from chapel to chapel and level to level via narrow stairways and low arches. The walls are painted in floral and geometric patterns.
