The Roman Agora at Athens is located to the north of the Acropolis and to the east of the Ancient Agora. The Agora was the hub of life in Ancient Greece. It combined marketplace with meeting place, and was where Athenians discussed business, justice and culture. The tower of the Winds, built in the 1st century BC by an astronomer as a sundial and water-powered clock, with relief sculptures of the winds on its sides.
